Questions to consider

How many labels do you require?

Loop Lock Labels come on a roll. These rolls vary in size, length, width and material. The most efficient and cost saving way of producing them is to print them 4-6 across (depending on printer size). They can be printed singularly if required i.e. for baggage at the airport.

Do they need to be resistant to chemicals or weather?

On what will you be using the labels on? What environment will they be placed?

We can provide different materials of Loop Lock Labels depending on where you need to use them. For example if using in a Nursery we can supply labels that are tear resistant, durable, frost and weather proof. If using in a laboratory are there certain chemicals that will come in contact with the labels?

How much do you want to spend?

There are different materials for Loop Lock Labels. For example paper, polyethylene or Tyvec. Polyethylene will be more expensive than paper. Keep in mind where the labels are going to be used, and how robust the label will need to be.

The higher the quantity ordered the lower the price will be.

Do you have any special requirements?

Expert Labels can offer many options when it comes to your Loop Lock Labels. We can provide either a basic white label or if you want something a bit more special we can offer a variety of colour labels.

Our labels can include perforations i.e. a tear off price section.

Please speak to a member of staff about any requirements you may have.

FAQ

Questions to consider

Labels can be applied by hand, manual applicator, semi-automatic applicator or fully robotic system. Labels need to resist for long term or short term some extreme external conditions.

This is your ultimate questions. Depending on your answer – you will have different range of labels. Also, it’s important to know duration of max temperature.

You should be aware of your maximal temperature, but also what will be constant temperature around label

If so,  this will help businesses identify any safety controls needed in the workplace, and tell workers how to deal safely with a chemical.

Do you need just a barcode, QR code, pre-printed design, etc.

Labels can be applied with adhesive part, but also they can be nailed, bolted, spot welded or clipped into place to identify items.

Client's review

We struggled to find a supplier who could get the right label material in a reasonable time-frame. Expert Labels understood what we needed, sent us samples to test and supplied us with labels that survived in our kilns - thank you.

Direct Thermal or Thermal Transfer

Thermal printers use heat to produce very high quality barcodes and other text on labels, tags, tickets, wristbands or receipt paper. Compared to laser and inkjet printing technologies, thermal – printers:
  • Need less maintenance
  • have lower cost labels, tickets and ink
  • can print single labels or receipts (not whole A4 sheets) and print faster (up to 450mm per second)
  • Near instant printing
  • while not suffering bleed as you find with some inkjet printers or fade with some lasers

Questions to consider

Are they being read by a person, a customer or a barcode scanner?  Is it being used to track items or identify products.

This is the ultimate question.

Depending on your answer – you will have a different range of labels to choose from.

Also, it’s important to know how long the label will be exposed to this temperature for.

Some labels need to be applied at high temperatures others need to be applied at room temperatures.

This affects the selection of the label material.

Ideally you need a clean, grease free surface, but the surface depends on your work conditions.  Help us understand the material the labels are being applied to so we can advise on the most suitable label.

Most of our labels and tags can be exposed to a range of chemicals and remain readable, but you are advised to test this before committing to purchase.

Do you need a full colour label or variable data such as batch code or production date?  Will you include a barcode or QR code?  All of our labels and tags can be printed with barcodes and text, however, contact us regarding logo printing on labels designed for use over 270.

Many labels come with self adhesive coatings.  Labels can be applied by hand with adhesive part, but also they can be nailed, bolted, spot welded or clipped into place to identify items.

FAQ

This depends on whether you’re ordering stock labels or made to order labels and tags.

Stock labels have a minimum order of one box.  Labels per box varies depending on label size.  Check with us before ordering.

Extreme high temperature labels and tags come on rolls of 100m and this would be the minimum quantity.

Whilst there is no minimum order quantity for made to order labels, the cost of 100 or 1,000 is likely to be the same (depending on label size), once you factor in machine set up times for label production. Additionally, there may be a minimum material order for many high temperature materials – so minimum quantities might apply.

We work hard to ensure you’re getting a label or tag that matches your expectations.  We will send samples for you to test.  If you’re having labels printed, we will send you a proof for you to approve.  We confirm all orders, detailing exactly what you’re getting (label size, material, number across the roll etc).

However, if the label quality falls below expectations, due to a manufacturing or material fault, we will refund or replace your labels.

We offer label samples.  In fact, with high temperature labels we strongly recommend you test the labels before you order.   Due to the high cost of extreme temperature labels and tags, we only have small quantities of pre-printed material samples to send out.

For stock labels, you can expect to receive your labels next working day (providing orders are received before 3pm).

For custom labels and tags, our standard lead time is two weeks.

For extreme high temperature labels and tags the lead time is three to four weeks.

Most label orders are unique, and deserve individual planning, design and costing.

The stock labels range don’t have a price list at this stage.

We always offer our most competitive prices, and work with you to try and minimise the unit price, by recommending standard sizes and lower cost materials where we can.

Horticulture Labels

Printing with high weather resistance

Horticultural labels typically fall into three categories – Loop lock or selt-tie tags, waterpoof self adhesive and economy direct thermal labels. Our garden centre and plant nursery customers tend to print using thermal label printers, laser printers or the trusted permanent marker pen. We supply our clients with horticultural labels to suit all three technologies.
